3:14 (from the verse 2 Timothy 3:14) was started about 4-5 years ago. There was a need to have something for the college and career aged students to feel connected. The 3:14 group meets at one of our member’s house every Sunday night for a light meal with games, devotions, bonfires, or whatever sporting event happens to be on that night. They have become a close group and enjoy spending time together. We periodically do outings like bowling, corn mazes, or trips to Chicago or the Indiana Dunes. Most of them are involved in various ministries throughout the church. 

 

Mark & Jama are leaders of the 3:14 college and career group at Mount Tabor. They are also very involved in other areas of the church and Mark is also a Deacon.

 

They enjoy working with the 3:14 group because they are close to their grown kids’ ages. They try to understand this stage in life and know these young people are the future of the church. Having seen so many leave the church in the past because they felt a bit lost in where they belonged, the Powers strive to keep them connected and involved in various activities. They want this group to feel loved and valued and try to be a source of help for them.
