Jason Grubbs
Lead Pastor
Jason grew up in Tennessee where his parents were directors of Christian homes for troubled teens and his father was a pastor. He was saved and baptized at a young age. As a Senior in high school, Jason felt God was calling him into the Gospel ministry. He met his wife, Joy, during high school and they began a close friendship that led them to the same Christian college, Crown College in Knoxville, TN in 1991. There, Joy majored in elementary education and Jason in pastoral theology. They were married in 1994. Jason finished his degree in 1995 and they began full time ministry at Shenandoah Baptist Church in 1996. Jason was the Associate Pastor for 11 years before becoming the Senior Pastor in 2007. He stayed in that position until 2010 when he became the Senior Pastor at Mount Tabor. Jason and Joy have four children: Jake, Judd, Jillian, and Jaclyn. They enjoy spending time watching their kids play sports and Joy operates a commercial and residential janitorial business. She also oversees the ladies ministries of the church, decorates the church, and leads a Triple Cord Group. Jason has a strong vision to see Triple Cord discipleship groups started throughout the church. He has a group of his own that meets weekly to pray together and discuss God’s Word and how it relates to everyday living. Jason strongly believes that it is the preaching and teaching of God’s Word that changes people’s lives. He is committed to expositional preaching that is relevant and applicable. Jason serves on the board of directors for Baptist International Evangelistic Ministries headquartered in Danville, IN and is a volunteer chaplain for the Boone County Sheriff’s Department.

Jason is also a big sports fan. He loves the Tennessee Vols and the Atlanta Braves. He also cheers on the Colts.
